The dates: Wed. 29.10.2025 | Wed. 11.03.2026 | Wed. 08.07.2026
For the fourth time, the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra and its guests are working with Ludger Engels to develop three concert performances to accompany the special exhibitions at the Küppersmühle Museum. In the nine editions of the series to date, which has developed into a cult series and whose three performances are now performed twice each due to high demand, the Philharmonic Orchestra has created new levels of experience from the themes and content of the exhibited works with more than 40 guests from music, drama and dance. In the next three concert performances, sonic interventions will reveal new perspectives on the works in the Küppersmühle’s unique Ströher Collection, as well as the backgrounds of the respective artists and their inspirations.
The focus is on the experience of sound, but also, very directly, of one’s own body in space. In the staged concerts, the relationship to the works of art is constantly questioned anew through movement. The musicians wander through the rooms of the museum in the concert performances. Visitors are invited to join the movement and explore new positions. In this way, the individual encounter with the artwork is explored anew in each room – an interplay of visual and acoustic sensory impressions, of visual art and performance, which creates a completely new level of experience and participation and opens up dialogues.
