“Painters, thieves and riff-raff” – the writer and language artist Frank Schablewski with an exhibition tour in many languages and poems to accompany Dieter Krieg’s paintings

Why are the motifs, the objects so large in Dieter Krieg’s pictures, as if the audience should be carried in his arms? Is it mockery and derision that someone is being taken for a ride? No, rather the child’s perspective, which makes the things in life seem huge.

What is a glass? Why is the yellow so big from the egg? These and other pictorial motifs are illuminated in poems and many languages.

Frank Schablewski successfully recited texts for “Heinz Kreutz – Black and White and in Color” in order to mirror the pictorial worlds with words. Frank Schablewski also reflected on the meaning of the colors in different languages in order to lend the dimension of abstraction a narrative moment.

How narrative are pictures of books, what do Dieter Krieg’s word pictures say beyond the word? Let yourself be surprised with rhymes and rhymeless, with languages that circulate in the neighborhood.

Admission €8.00 including admission to the temporary exhibition
