ACADEMICS: EBERHARD HAVEKOST | TITLE

July 12, 2013 to October 20, 2013
MKM Museum Küppersmühle for Modern Art

With his creative identity, Eberhard Havekost is one of the artists who have both shaped new German painting and decisively influenced the international art scene in the last ten years by using the achievements of the digital media age for their painterly image creation processes on the one hand and dealing with their effects on the other. The subjectivity of our perception and the relationship between subject and object, between man and nature and the world of things are central questions on which Eberhard Havekost concentrates in his works and with which he challenges the viewer to reflect.

In the Akademos series, which is taking place for the eighth time at the Museum Küppersmühle and presents the work of the renowned professors of the Düsseldorf Art Academy, the MKM is dedicating a comprehensive exhibition of around 100 works to the artist. The focus is on current paintings from the years 2008 to 2013. Twenty works alone, some of them serial, were created in 2013 in the run-up to the exhibition and are being presented for the first time.
