New year – new cultural program. And where does the money come from? How are museums supposed to work when the public sector is cutting back more and more? To what extent are the economy and the private sector challenged? What influence can, should or may sponsors have? And how can the interests of sponsors and beneficiaries be reconciled in a meaningful way? Can business be art at all?

Stephan Muschick (Managing Director of the RWE Foundation for Energy and Society) will give a keynote speech to introduce these and other questions, which will then be discussed together with Garrelt Duin (NRW Minister of Economic Affairs), Lars Martin Klieve (Treasurer of the City of Essen), Thomas A. Lange (CEO of National-Bank AG) and Walter Smerling (Director of MKM).
