Nordic Art | Contemporary Art from Scandinavia

November 5 to December 12, 2004

MKM Museum Küppersmühle for Modern Art, Duisburg

For the first time, contemporary art from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden will be shown at the MKM in an exemplary manner. The visual arts are just as indispensable a part of culture in these countries as they are in Germany. To the extent that national culture reflects the independence of a nation, it helps to preserve its autonomy. The artists work individually and work for themselves. None of them set out to make “Nordic art”. All the artists shown here are primarily interested in drawing attention to their artistic intentions.
