October 29, 1999 – January 30, 2000
MKM Museum Küppersmühle for Modern Art, Duisburg
The exhibition Tomorrow For Ever comprises a corpus of historical photographs from the collection of Ruth and Peter Herzog (Basel), an insert by photographer Hélène Binet with images of the extension to the Jewish Museum in Berlin by Daniel Libeskind and a contemporary section from the 1960s to the present day, created by international artists who work with the medium of photography. The three parts of the exhibition come together like distinct moments of a time that could be described as the suddenness of decay. The images bear witness to interrupted, halted narratives; they form a moment in time in which photography was given the gift of the future as a present of decay.
