During this time, the new building is connected to the old building, the necessary wall openings are made and the pipes are synchronized.

In June, the existing collection floors will reopen (specific date to follow) and a new exhibition will also open: The MKM is participating in the Ruhr Art Museums’ cross-city project “Art and Coal”.

Completion of the extension and the new presentation of the collection are planned for 2019.
