Bauhaus anniversary: MKM opens new Otto Hofmann collection room

To mark the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus, the MKM Museum Küppersmühle is dedicating a separate collection room to the painter, graphic artist and designer Otto Hofmann (1907-1996).

100 YEARS OF BAUHAUS – THE MKM IS ALSO CELEBRATING:
BAUHAUS PAINTER OTTO HOFMANN’S OWN EXHIBITION SPACE OPEN TO VISITORS FROM 6.2.19

Hofmann, an artist of the younger Bauhaus generation, was a student of Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. The MKM is showing a concentrated selection of his works and providing an exemplary insight into his oeuvre – from early paintings from the 1930s to works from the 1950s and oil paintings from the 1980s. The oldest painting was created in 1931, Hofmann’s final year at the Bauhaus in Dessau.
