THE PRINCIPLE OF “DISTURBANCE” IN ART
This themed tour focuses on the motif of disturbance in art – be it in composition, the combination of shapes, colors or materials or the disruption of “habitual seeing”. During a joint tour of the current temporary exhibition BECHTOLD and the MKM’s permanent collection, selected works will be examined.

ABSTRACT PORTRAIT PAINTING
Workshop with guided tour for young people and adults
Erwin Bechtold’s portraits are not realistic depictions of human figures. In his pictures, he creates abstractions that he associates with the people portrayed. After an introduction and discussion about non-figurative representations of people, participants will create their own abstract portraits based on Bechtold’s work “Hommage”.

THE ORDERLY CHAOS
WORKSHOPS FOR SCHOOLS (Years 5 -12)
A blank page? Sandpaper? Round and angular shapes and no ruler? What is to become of it? Order and chance are the two opposing poles in Erwin Bechtold’s artistic work. As we walk through the exhibition together, we will discuss the artist’s works and approach the principles of “order and chance” with practical exercises. Afterwards you design your own “orderly chaos”.
