Accompanying program Erwin Wurm | Visitor School by Bazon Brock at the MKM

Erwin Wurm’s sculptures – on show from today in a major joint exhibition in Duisburg – never cease to amaze the viewer. Bazon Brock explains why.

Once his teacher, Brock explains to you in the visitors’ school at the MKM why the artist makes 90 meters of exhibition wall disappear under a huge green knitted surface, why basic forms are given a human appearance, why an oversized, signal-coloured boxing glove is marked by tire tracks and, of course, what the One Minute Sculptures are all about that made the Austrian sculptor famous. According to Brock, Wurm was an ideal, fantastic student who, on the one hand, wanted to surpass his teacher and, on the other, managed to do so.

Anyone who knows Brock knows that you can expect anything from him, except a classic introduction to the exhibition. On Sunday, July 9, 2017, at 2 p.m., and on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at 11 a.m., we cordially invite you to immerse yourself in the intellectual adventures of Bazon Brock and Erwin Wurm.
