Save the Date: BECHTOLD at the MKM | March 11 to May 24, 2020

Painting as a search for freedom, as an antithesis to ideology and as an expression of independence: these central ideas are the starting point for Erwin Bechtold's works.

The artist is one of the most important representatives of post-war abstract art in Germany and Spain. This year he celebrates his 95th birthday – and is still in his studio almost every day. The MKM Museum Küppersmühle is showing a comprehensive, retrospective exhibition of paintings and works on paper from seven decades.
