The Stiftung für Kunst und Kultur e.V. has been presenting the “Jugend interpretiert Kunst” competition project at the Küppersmühle Museum in Duisburg for 14 years. The Essen-based chemical company Evonik has been the patron of the prize since 2014. Once again this year, many hundreds of schools across Germany applied for the chance to take part in Germany’s most highly endowed youth art prize. Once again, 20 school classes were selected by lot to submit their competition entries, i.e. their responses to contemporary art at the MKM, for evaluation by the jury. All 20 participating classes and thus more than 450 pupils and their teachers will be present at the opening ceremony and eagerly await the announcement of the prize winners.
