NORBERT KRICKE – Movement in space

November 18, 2022 to August 27, 2023 –
The exhibition in the MKM’s Oberlichtsaal honors Norbert Kricke as an exceptional artist who provided groundbreaking impulses for art in the Federal Republic of Germany after 1945 and whose works have lost none of their dynamism to this day. In addition to the outstanding sculptures from three decades of his work, numerous drawings are also on display.
Sound and performance in dialog with image and space

In three concert performances, musicians from the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra and director Ludger Engels explore new levels of experience that are developed from the themes and content of the exhibited works or enter into a direct dialog with them.
Sigmar Polke “Original + Forgery” (1973) – On show again at the MKM for the first time in 20 years

The painting cycle “Original + Forgery” (1973) from the Ströher Collection is one of the key works in Sigmar Polke’s oeuvre. At the MKM Museum Küppersmühle, “Original and Forgery” can be seen in its entirety for the first time in 20 years, in the skylight room of Herzog & de Meuron’s recently opened extension.
THE NEW MKM

New landmark in the Ruhr region: since the laying of the foundation stone and around four years of construction, the extension to the Küppersmühle Museum by Herzog & de Meuron has been completed. The house has been open to visitors since September 24.
