A new room by Erwin Bechtold at the MKM

In honor of his 100th birthday, the MKM is presenting a new room with works by Erwin Bechtold in the permanent exhibition of the Ströher Collection. Until the end of May 2026, 60 works will be on display – 48 of which are new permanent loans. The room previously housed works by Gerhard Hoehme, which will be on display as part of a major solo exhibition at the MKM from February 2026.

The 21×21 exhibition is open!

To mark their 15th anniversary, the 21 RuhrKunstMuseen are staging a joint exhibition at Villa Hügel in 2025. Highlights of modern and contemporary art from their collections will be presented – a reflection of the diverse museum landscape of the Ruhr region, which is characterized by industrial culture.

RUHRKUNSTBEWEGT

The 21 art museums in the Ruhr region joined forces in 2010 to form the RuhrKunstMuseen network. Since then, the network has also established itself outside the region with its programs and special educational and mediation offers such as Collection Tours, RuhrKunstNachbarn, RuhrKunstUrban and the development of a joint school matrix.
