Art meets…3Sat Museumscheck – behind the scenes

“The museum as a sensual place of experience” – This is how the format “Museumscheck” of the channel 3Sat describes itself. The format conveys art by visiting fascinating museums in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and exploring them through dialog.
But how does a day of filming at a Museumscheck museum actually work? How much lead time is needed in advance and which works should be discussed at all? Our guests Martina Klug and Markus Brock talk about their everyday life in front of and behind the camera and report on what is important in the digital mediation of art.

Focus tour: GERHARD RICHTER

On the occasion of International Museum Day on May 15, 2022, our art educator Dr. Luther-Zimmer will guide interested visitors through the collection floors to Gerhard Richter from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

MKM meets Duisburger Philharmoniker

At the Wandelkonzert on 12 June, “mixed media on canvas” and “Lydian key” come together: A string quartet, a clarinet and a bayan accompany the Raimund Girkes retrospective with a programme between classical and modern. Works by Beethoven, Messiaen and Preinfalk, among others, respond to the “sound of silence” evoked by Girke’s paintings.

Art meeting

How do you immerse yourself in the cosmos of a picture that shows nothing?

KUNSTtreffen is an event format that focuses on perception in the encounter with art. 1-2 works by the artist Raimund Girke are examined in detail.

Themed tours on request
